Today is the first day December. Twenty five days until we celebrate Christmas!
Last night our church hosted an Advent wreath making night, complete with supplies, music, and snacks. It was such a blessing for our family to work on this project together and to fellowship with so many friends.
Tonight, we lit the first candle. We each wrote down as many of God's promises that we could think of on slips of paper and placed them in a special box... It was heart warming to watch our kids. Abigail wrote long entries. Samuel drew pictures and added a few words. Ethan even 'wrote' a couple. Tomorrow, we read them and thank God for his faithfulness, then continue with special activities each evening.
Taking this time to reflect on God's promises has softened my heart from the hurry and shopping and scheduling. I am already feeling more excited about the upcoming holiday. Although this is only our first day, it is already added to our list of yearly traditions!
What a great chance to dwell in the details of the nativity story and to remember God's amazing love!

What a great idea, I love to ponder the things we are thankful for and what a blessing to see our kids grow spiritually.
P.S. I love your Blog layout...very festive!!
Love it!!!! The background is fantastic!! What a beautiful tradition, makes me want to get our wreath out of moth balls :) That was one of the traditions that the Episcopal church has that I dearly loved. Hoping to be able to get the tree down in the next couple of days, the kids are so excited to get it decorated. Here is to a peaceful season full of memories and remembering the true meaning of the season!
Love you,
Tiffany
