MY BABY GIRL!
When Sheri asked if she could hire Abigail to babysit for the morning, the question stopped me for a moment. Wasn't it just yesterday that I was fastening her car seat, changing her diapers, helping her get dressed? Was she really old enough to do something like this?
I slowly realized, yes. Abigail really is capable of holding, supervising, feeding, changing. She is kind and responsible. And she is sharing my socks now, so she must be big enough. :)
I agreed, Abigail excitedly agreed, and sweet Lauryn arrived.
I was so proud of Abigail. She set up a blanket in the yard with books and puzzles to play with. When Lauryn lost interest, Abigail took her to the fence to see some horses. She fed her lunch and changed one diaper (with a little help). Then, when naptime came, Abigail walked her in the stroller until she fell asleep.
What a blessing!
Thank you Sheri for reaching out and knowing my daughter. Thank you for giving her this experience and building her confidence.
Thank you Abigail for not just growing, but also maturing. Thank you for all of the good choices you are making that are defining your character. You did a great job, my sweet girl!

How great! My first babysitting jobs were quite similar. My Mom was close enough to make me feel confident, but not so close that I didn't get to do it myself.
Also, Happy Mother's Day to you!
