Love Thy Neighbor

When we arrived last spring, John was the first person we met. He owns the land that we were working on and was such a gracious host.

He and his wife Pam completely welcomed us into their lives. They loaned us furniture for the house. They hosted a cook-out where we met other local families. John took our Christmas card photos. And over the summer, he even learned to speak Ethan's language.

Our children adore them.

Over the last few weeks, Abigail and Samuel have been working on a big project for their Awana clubs. When they realized that they were going to need to use tools, they knew just who to call for help.

John invited them into his shop and helped them fine tune their designs.

As he helped with the more difficult tools, he explained how each one operated and let them watch each step.

Abigail and Samuel worked alot too. They used sand paper, chisels, hammers and the vice. Then, he let them both use the jigsaw... by themselves!

What a blessing to have friends in this new life.
In this case, the commandment to love thy neighbor is an easy one to follow!
