After a very busy week, we wanted to do something special today. So, we took the kids to a local peach orchard that lets you pick your own fruit.
That is exactly what we did. We picked and picked and pickety picked!
The girls at the farm stand directed us down a road with the instructions to start picking at the row marked with a large arrow, to leave any green fruit and to have fun. There are rows and rows and rows of trees. Alot of the low branches were empty, but remember... we are a tall family. Jackpot!
After we picked alot of peaches from two rows, we started back with our overflowing bags. On our walk back, we passed a young woman, empty bag in hand, headed toward to the trees. Ethan shook his head and said, "Oh no!" He thought we had picked ALL the good peaches and was panicked that she would only find empty branches :) We assured him that there were a few left.
Oh, and they let you use a wagon. They gave no instructions for that, but maybe should have. I really did tell Samuel to stop running down the road with his sister in tow.... right after I took the photo :)
Isn't the background just beautiful? The mountains, the rows of trees, I wish I could have captured the sweet smell in the air.

M - So with 28 lbs, can I request a jar of jam??
Love, Kady
Wow, that looks like an absolutely perfect day!
Peach jam? Yum! Do you have a recipe?
We were planning to make a pie and cobbler, a batch of peach ice cream and flash freeze some for smoothies :) Oh, and we had peach, yogurt, granola parfaits for breakfast!
Okay so am I invited to partake in all of the above mentioned treats??? I'll be right over :) Is this where I think it is...where we went to pick apples? Love, love, love the photos and especially the one with the view in the background soooo beautiful!!
Love you,
T
