True to His word...

This is where our family is living for the summer of 2008!
It goes by a bunch of local names, like 'the blue house' or 'the upper place', but we are calling it "home" for right now. It has a kitchen, living room, laundry room, 1 bathroom, 1 bedroom and 1 'substantial loft' that our three little blessings are bunking in.
.
The house was built in the early 1800s (sort-of new, around these parts) and has a ton of character. Hiding under it's chippy blue siding are thick chestnut logs. Because the laundry and kitchen are additions, these logs are still visible inside, as well as along the ceiling... just beautiful.
It is serving us as a shelter from the elements, rooms to eat and rest in, a homeschool classroom, and as the backdrop for a ton of wonderful memories!

Psalm 23 (The Message)
God is my shephard!
I don't need a thing.
You have bedded me down in lush meadows,
you find me quiet pools to drink from.
TRUE TO YOUR WORD,
YOU LET ME CATCH MY BREATH
AND SEND ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.
.
Several weeks ago, the bolded section above, stopped me. I have read and reread it this summer. It was like it was written directly to our family, on this farm. After a very difficult year, full of decisions and changes, this summer has been a time of rest for us. Oh so very full of physical labor, but a time to emotionally catch our breath. What an amazingly merciful God that we know. He has provided beautiful rolling green hills, fog blanketed mornings, wildflowers and so many pleasant breezes.
Honestly, these are beautiful details to dwell in!

p.s. Does the background of this farm look familiar?
Well, the hills just over the house are rather famous. No, not for the fact that our family of five has been moving livestock all over them, but because they were in a major motion picture. Quick, run to the video store and rent Gods and Generals.
It was filmed right here! Fun trivia, huh?

Okay, so I'm weeping, because we are not there with you!! But what a priviledge to be able to say that we dwelt a little while with you in these beautiful surroundings! You will never know how much our time with all of you meant to each and every one of us. Washing eggs, washing dishes, and hanging clothes out on your clothes line were such a balm to my own spirit and a treasure my heart will always remember!
We love you,
T
