Tales from a cardboard jungle!
All of our possessions had been packed in cardboard and loaded on a truck... a very large truck. They were then driven 2100 miles. At this point the truck driver discovered that his very large truck could not drive up to our lovely farmhouse. Oops.
All of our cardboard packaged possessions were then shuttled from the large truck, onto moving vans, and into our driveway. The super excited moving guys then relifted our boxes, all 410 of them, and placed them in the house. All over the house actually, and every room looked like this:
In the chaos of deciding what room should serve what purpose and directing each box to its new home and supervising 3 excited, exploring children...we were just surviving the day.
Then I walked into the kitchen and saw this:
Our new neighbor had dropped by and left homemade lasagna, french bread and fresh flowers. She included a card that welcomed us and offered to help if we needed anything as we settled in. Isn't that amazing!
This stealthy act of kindess reminded me of a blog that I read. Maria at little things are big sets out to do 1 random act of kindess each week and chronicles her adventures as "The Kindess Bandit" on her blog. Its a great reminder to be purposeful in seeing and blessing others.
Hey, maybe my neighbor reads Maria's blog... or maybe she is just naturally kind. Either way, dinner was amazing and we were totally blessed!
