Shop Til They Drop

After unpacking lots and lots of stuff, we realized something totally crazy... we needed more.

You see, some things are different in this new house. Ethan made the jump to a twin sized bed, so he needed bedding. Our kitchen trash can was built-in, so it stayed in AZ. Neither of the kids' rooms have closets. Our laundry basket and lamp shades were broken in the move. We just need some fill-in stuff.

Since we had a store credit from over a year ago, we decided to go to:

Ikea: the ultimate 'stuff mart'

  • We arrived at 9:30 to have breakfast in their restaurant. Really, who can beat .99 cents for bacon, eggs and potatoes?
  • Then, we started shopping when the store opened at 10:00.
  • After visiting the children's dept (just for entertainment value), shelving, kitchen, storage, office, and bedrooms, we moved on to the ground level where you pick up your boxes and check out.
  • By the time we reached the car it was 3:00. We had shopped for 5 hours!!

While this photo may have been a little staged, they really were exhausted. Okay, we were all exhausted. After a couple more stops, we headed home for some rest . . . and more unpacking :)

Moving is so much work. I love the pic of your kids. TOO CUTE. I know exactly how they feel.

I LOVE YOUR BLOG. It makes me feel like I have my friend back. Thank you for being so great about posting and keeping us updated. I don't know where you find the time.

Your 'slumbering' children photo made me giggle...Abigail really looks like she's snoozing! IKEA has this magical way of making minutes turn to hours. Just walking through (without stopping to look at the o-so-cool stuff) takes 45 minutes! Hope you got all you needed...and then some!
