As we are settling into our new life, here in Virginia, we are discovering lots of local treasures. There are fun shops, great restaurants, and some really unique places. Here is one of our new favorites.
This is a local, family owned garden center. It is alot like I imagine the Garden of Eden was like. The colors, the variety, the scent...amazing. Oh, and resonable prices too. In our past two summers in Virginia, we had never even heard of this place. Maybe you have to really commit, before they let you in on the best secrets.
Here is just a small section of their vegetable plants. This row is 95% tomatoes and cucumbers! Given that many choices, I had to ask for advice (a couple times). We all agreed that Grandpa Beau (Brent's dad) would have loved the outdoor rose varieties. He just had a wonderful way with roses!
They even sell Venus Fly Traps! Can I explain how excited we were? We took turns getting it to bite our umbrella string. I felt a bit guilty for teasing it, but decided that a plant probably can't feel frustrated. Then, I counted it as a science lesson.
Yes, this is a very happy place. With a garden center like this, I think my thumb is starting to turn green!
